Bay Area Contracting Owner Dean Adams Wins Twelve Awards in 2011 Parade of Homes Judging

September 10, 2011 – Bay Area Contracting of Traverse City was honored with three prestigious People’s Choice Awards, seven first place awards and two runner-up awards from the Home Builders Association Grand Traverse Area for their 2011 Parade of Homes entries. This is the fourth year Bay Area Contracting has won the People’s Choice Award. This year they received the People’s Choice Award in three of the five categories. The company, which was founded by Dean and Tricia Adams in 2007, has received Parade of Homes awards every year since 2008.

This year’s Parade of Homes Awards presented to Bay Area Contracting include:

• First Place awards for Master Suite, Interior Design and Kitchen for homes in the $249,000 to $372,000 price range. Bay Area Contracting also won runner-up awards for Exterior Design and Craftsmanship in this price range

• First Place awards for Interior Design, Kitchen, Craftsmanship and Judge’s Choice for homes ranging in cost from $435,000 to $585,000.

• People’s Choice Awards for homes valued in three categories: $249,000 to $372,000, $435,000 to $585,000 and $950,000 and above.

That makes receiving three People’s Choice awards particularly heartwarming,” says Adams. “We’re delighted to have our work recognized by both the public and the judges. It’s always an honor to also receive recognition from your peers.”

Three Traverse City area homes built by Bay Area Contracting were on the Parade of Homes Tour this year.

Dean Adams is a northern Michigan native who began working in the building industry as a framer in 1998. He studied engineering at Grand Valley State University. After moving back to Traverse City he and his wife Tricia founded Bay Area Contracting and first entered the Parade of Homes in 2008 where they have won awards each year since. In 2010 Adams was named Distinguished Builder of the Year for 2009 by the Home Builder’s Association Grand Traverse Area and was selected for the Traverse City Business News 40 Under 40. Tricia Adams, a neonatal nurse at Munson Hospital, is involved with marketing and home design for Bay Area Contracting.
